ENGAGE CAPITAL ATTENDS DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE MINORITY BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AGENCY’S “MINORITY BUSINESS FINANCING ROUNDTABLE”

Makes Commitment to Assist Minority Businesses

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., November 14, 2002 --- While attending the Department of Commerce’s Minority Business Development Agency’s Minority Business Financing Roundtable in Washington DC, Engage Capital today announced its commitment to assist the MBDA in expanding the opportunities for minority-owned businesses in America. Engage Capital’s President and CEO David Takata said, “The MBDA has taken a significant leadership role in gathering industry professionals dedicated to promote equal access to capital in America. We are excited to have been invited to share our thoughts with the MBDA and our peers, and commit to doing our part to knock down barriers between the growing population of minority businesses and the capital markets.”

The Minority Business Financing Roundtable is a prelude to a series of recommendations that will be made to the Administration, Congress, and senior-level private sector financial officers in Spring 2003.

While attending the Roundtable event on Strategies for Improving Financing for High-Growth Companies, Engage Capital’s Executive Vice President and CFO Peter Partain stated that the new entrepreneurial spirit of the MBDA, along with its historical success in seeding networks of professional relationships between capital sources and minority business positions the Agency for increased visibility with investor groups. “We would not have made the trip to our Nation’s capitol this week, if not for the MBDA’s enthusiasm shown under National Director Ronald Langston’s leadership.”
