David Takata, 45, President and CEO. David is a co-founder, and directs the firm's investment affairs. From 1999-2001, he was a Senior Vice President of Research at Gerard Klauer Mattison, and a founding member of the firm's West Coast expansion. In addition, David served as an advisor to GKM Venture Partners. Prior to that, he was a Partner at Gruntal & Co., leading the firm's technology research as well as managing more than $200 million in three unit investment trusts. He is a former Wall Street Journal All-Star Analyst.

David served on the Board of Directors of Komag Corporation, a leading supplier of thin-film media to the storage industry. At Komag, David chaired the Nominating and Governance Committee and was a member of the Finance Committee during the $250 million convertible note offering and during the M&A negotiations preceding the buyout by Western Digital. In addition, he figures prominently in the California Chamber of Commerce's Access to Business Capital (ABC) Program and sits on boards of a number of privately-held companies, including the MultiCultural Media Expo (an Engage Capital portfolio company). He also serves on the non-profit board of the 2nd Chance Fund. David has a BS in Finance from California State University, Fresno where he graduated with honors.
